Technically in Orient Heights, it’s an easy trip from East Boston. It’s a city beach, not a tropical or Cape Cod advertisement beach, but there are some opportunities for an interesting visit. Topsail Addiction Treatment

For an easy hike with scenic views, visit Boston’s last remaining salt marsh with unique plants and wildlife along paths to the observation tower. Just past the Orient Heights T-station you’ll find a parking lot with room for more than 30 vehicles (or you can bike over). It’s an urban nature preserve and public recreation area protecting 188 acres. The reservation consists of about 3/4 mile of well groomed paths leading to a 3-story observation tower (requires a little climb) which offers unique views of downtown. Even for those who ultimately maintain their recovery long-term, relapse is a constant threat and a common part of the process. It’s not unusual for those struggling with addiction to needing multiple episodes of treatment the same as it’s not uncommon for those with other chronic diseases to need subsequent treatment.

Somerville Sober Living

Many studies have shown (and many people’s sobriety have confirmed) that maintaining abstinence is difficult without a stable, drug and alcohol-free environment following treatment. So, sober living environments provide a safe and supportive place for recovering addicts to live during their first months sober and often times much longer, should they so choose. And, to make sure that we are maintaining a sober environment our guests are all required to attend at least three outside AA/NA or similar meetings per week. We steer them to obtain an AA/NA sponsor within the first four weeks of residence, if they don’t already have one, insist they call the sponsor regularly.
